May 14, 2010, renowned real estate operator the Powerlong Group held its 20th anniversary celebrations two weeks after the Shanghai Expo was launched. More than 1,000 people attended the celebrations, including leaders such as alternate member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Committee and President of the All China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese Lin Jun, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party's United Front Work Department Huang Yuejin, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macau Gao Yan, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Government and Secretary of the Communist Party's United Front Work Department Yang Xiaodu, Party Secretary of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Qin Zhigang, former Xiamen City Party Secretary and Director of the Standing Committee of NPC Hong Yongshi, 52 delegations from different levels of government, representatives from 40 financial institutions and strategic cooperative banks, delegates from 26 local and overseas organizations, representatives from 245 brand companies and 40 media outlets as well as other guests from China and abroad. The celebrations were held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai’s Pudong area. Various celebrities were invited to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Powerlong Group. Famous hostess from the Phoenix Channel Miss Chen Luyu and host from Shanghai TV Mr. Cao Kefan were invited to host the ceremony. Meanwhile, the famous Tibetan pop musician Rongzhongerjia, pop star Ye Xiqi, and the FIRE String Band were also invited to liven up the celebrations. This celebration was another major item of news from the Group following the successful listing of its core business - Powerlong Real Estate (HK01238) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last year and the successful relocation of Powerlong Real Estate HQ to Shanghai. The day’s celebrations attracted widespread attention.

During the anniversary celebrations, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Powerlong Group Mr. Xu Jiankang delivered a speech entitled “Sharing Values for Joint Development” in which he looked back at the history of the Group over the last 20 years and went on to extend his gratitude to various parties for their support for Powerlong. According to the Chairman, since its establishment, the Powerlong Group has always been dedicated to going beyond tradition by means of creativity in order to establish a new mode of business and to create more value for society. Adhering to the concept of "Rejuvenating the City and Creating Value" and committed to improving the quality of life for people across the country, Powerlong has cooperated with the Chinese Government in its urbanization programs and has invested in 15 new developing cities in Fujian, Tianjin, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and other provinces. It has created 20 core products incorporating Powerlong ideas and operating characteristics – the Powerlong City Plazas. They are a combination of shopping centers, tourism service providers, caterers, leisure spots, recreation centers, entertainment spots, business and cultural centers. At the celebrations, Powerlong Group signed investment intention agreements with 11 government delegations from Tianjin, Shandong, Henan, Fujian, Anhui and other provinces (cities) respectively. These agreements cover a land area of more than 6 million square meters. The Shanghai Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Shanghai Branch of the Bank of Communications, and Shanghai Branch of the Bank of China signed strategic cooperation agreements with Powerlong Real Estate. These banks will provide Powerlong with a credit line of more than RMB 15 billion. In addition, 42 renowned local and foreign brands including Tesco, Parkson Department Store, Hengdian World Studios, Starwood and Suning Appliance joined with Powerlong Group in forging strategic alliances.

Various leaders at the central, provincial and municipal levels of the government delivered speeches at the event. They praised Powerlong Group for its contributions in regard to the promotion of scientific development, local industry and the tertiary sector, reform in the commercial real estate sector, promotion of international urbanization, the improvement of living standards and local economic development. They especially commended Powerlong for fulfilling its social responsibilities.

During the first session of the Powerlong Nationwide Conference on the Promotion of Investments in the Real Estate Sector held before the celebration, nearly 500 representatives from the business sector engaged in discussions with senior officials from the Powerlong Group according to the theme of “Sharing values for Joint Development”.
